snapmerge - merging coordinate files

snapmerge merges two coordinate files. The syntax for snapmerge is:

snapmerge [options] base_crd_file new_crd_file [output_crd_file]

where

base_crd_file

is the name of the base coordinate file to be added to. The output file will include all stations in this file, and will be in the coordinate system and with the options defined in this file.

new_crd_file

is the coordinate file from which new stations will be read. The use of these stations is controlled by the options selected.

output_crd_file

is the name of the output file to be created. If this is omitted then the base coordinate file will be overwritten with the new coordinates.

The command can include the following options

-oc

-oa

-o

replace base stations with the corresponding stations in the new file. The default is to leave existing stations unchanged.

overwrite base station coordinates

overwrite base station attributes

-u

Upgrade the base file station with the corresponding stations in the new file. Don't add any new stations.

-ua

Apply changes to existing classifications in the base coordinate file but don't add new classifications from the new file.

-c or -cb

Remove coordinate orders from the base file.

-cd

Remove coordinate orders from stations in the new station file.

-y date

specifies the date to use for coordinate conversions if required. The date format can be any used by snap, for example a decimal year, or yyyymmdd.

-l listfile

only add or update stations included in the listfile. This is a simple text file containing a list of station codes.
